Harvard Medical School (HMS) has collaborative research programs with laboratories all over the world through which many groundbreaking research initiatives are pursued. In 1996 the Giovanni Armenise-Harvard Foundation was established to specifically focus on basic science and collaborative research with Italian institutes and to contribute the development of the Italian scientific infrastructure. Using this same model, PHMI worked with the Government of Dubai to establish the Dubai Harvard Foundation for Medical Research, which will focus on developing academic leaders and the associated research infrastructure in Dubai through collaborative programs with Harvard Medical School.
