Our client community is comprised of organizations that demonstrate a long-term commitment to pursue excellence. To this end we build project teams to develop and deliver customized programs with a depth and breadth of service appropriate to meet our client's objectives. We focus on helping our clients create value that enables them to develop new institutional knowledge and capabilities, foster continuous improvement, and become model organizations.

The PHMI team brings together a diversity of knowledge and experience touching every corner of health care and education. Our client services and programs also draw upon the expertise of faculty and staff across Harvard University, at the Medical School, and at all of the Medical School's affiliated teaching hospitals and institutes.

Initiating New Client Engagements
Our process for initiating new client relationships is as follows. For engagements focused on long-term objectives we typically follow a phased approach that begins with an initial interaction to clarify both parties' expectations and to affirm their interest in working together. We then develop a Letter of Intent ("LOI") that defines the deliverables, responsibilities of each party, and fees associated with a Site Visit and Assessment conducted by PHMI. If both parties wish to pursue further work beyond the engagement defined by the LOI, we would work with you to develop a new contractual Agreement to define the terms of our collaboration going forward. All long-term engagements begin with a detailed study and analysis of organizational needs, as a precursor to working closely with the client to develop a project plan and specialized services.

For engagements involving discrete or short-term activities, we may choose to develop a Letter of Agreement ("LOA") that defines the nature of the services to be rendered, the payment terms, and the commitments of both parties to work together effectively.

Use of the Harvard Name
Because Harvard University, as a part of its broader University strategy, is seeking to exercise greater control of the use of the Harvard name, the use by our clients of "Harvard" and/or "Harvard Medical International" names or marks will no longer be permitted. We will permit clients to make factual representation of our relationship with them, and will provide assistance to determine how such representation may be developed and used appropriately in order to promote and enhance the awareness of the relationship between our organizations.
